Follow the progress at 25 Hancock Street in Portland

Bird’s eye view of growing tax base & new jobs

Check out the image at the bottom of this page. You can now keep track of one of the most exciting new projects on Portland’s peninsula --- from start to finish, with several time-lapse views that will keep you completely up to date with construction progress.

Cameras will constantly monitor construction progress at Maine’s first Cambria Hotel, projected to open in 2021. Choice Hotels International, Inc. and Koucar Management held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the new hotel in August of 2019 Bateman Partners, a commercial real estate development company, is the developer on the project.

“This project, as well as nearby projects for Covetrus and WEX, are creating really good jobs in the city of Portland,” said David Bateman, president of Bateman Partners. “It’s also producing sorely-need tax revenue for schools and municipal services, and that’s why curiosity about progress there is sky-high. These cameras are a great option for keeping everybody up to speed.”

The redevelopment project was approved by Portland’s planning board earlier this year.

The construction in this area is by far one of the largest mixed-use real estate projects to be built in the City for several decades. No doubt the taxpayers of Portland are pleased that the tax base in Maine’s largest city is growing, generating additional and sorely-need revenue for schools and municipal services.
